上周起政府向全港外籍家務工提供免費一次性檢測，但香港亞州家務工會聯(FADWU)會發現檢測文件和預約網站只有中、英文，對一些英語程度較低的外籍家務工有障礙。本會更發現檢測結果竟是以中文短訊形式發放，漠視了一眾外籍家務工的語言需要，可見政府在是次大型檢測的配套不足。
Last week, the government offered free COVID-19 testing service to all migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong, but FADWU found that the documents and booking system are only in Chinese and English, which is a barrier to those migrant domestic workers with low English proficiency. FADWU also found that the test results were released in the form of Chinese SMS, ignoring the language needs of foreign domestic workers, which shows that the government's support for this large-scale test is inadequate.
本會發現病毒檢測的網站和文件只有中、英文兩種語言，如果工友不諳英語，有機會在檢測期間遇到困難，例如不知如何在網站登記、不懂填寫健康申報表等等。工會理事在檢測中心發現，一些來自印尼的家務工因為不懂英語，她們在填健康申報表遇到困難，需要職員在旁解釋才能完成申報。
If workers do not understand English, they may encounter difficulties during the testing process, such as not knowing how to register on the website, or how to fill out the health declaration form, etc. At the testing center,our union members found that some Indonesian domestic workers had difficulty filling out the health declaration form because they did not understand English.
本會一直關注疫情下外籍家務工疫情下的權益和資訊問題。根據我們於2020年5月至6月初進行的一項調查，FADWU收集到了四百多份匿名問卷並了解更多關於外籍家務工疫情下在香港的處境。超過80％的受訪外籍家務工指他們沒有收到任何以其母語提供的政府的防疫資訊（包括歧視條例與肺炎的關係），又或是收到的資訊不足。
FADWU has conducted a survey in May to early June 2020, with a total of 427 respondents from four nationalities migrant domestic workers. More than 80% of interviewed workers do not receive any and or enough information regarding Hong Kong Government policy in their own languages.
其實現時有不少政府醫院有提供多種語言版本的文件，衛生署的防疫網站上亦提供多種語言選項，包括菲律賓語、印尼語、泰語、尼泊爾語等，方便不同國籍的市民求診和接觸疾情資訊。
In fact, many hospitals and the COVID-19 Thematic Website are now providing documents in multiple languages, including Tagalog, Bahasa, Thai, and Nepali, to facilitate ethnic minorities to seek medical consultation and access health information.
我們認為，網上預約系統和社區檢測中心理應提供多種語言版本，尤其是次檢測涉及超過39萬名在港外籍家務工，規模龐大，政府有必要協助外籍家務工參與計劃。
We believe that the booking system and the community testing centers should be made available in multiple languages, especially since this testing scheme involves over 390,000 foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong.
抗疫期間，工友能夠接收到一些正確的資訊是至關重要的。這不但能夠讓他們能夠保護自己，也對公眾健康有正面作用。政府應該為在港的少數族裔提供不同語言的資訊。
Access to accurate information is crucial under the pandemic. It does not only help workers to protect themselves but also for the sake of the general public. The government should provide information in different languages for different nationalities in Hong Kong.
