Perhaps playing tabletop games is one unpopular leisure activities in HK society. However, it's one of my favourite activities partly because the activitiy, in some way, is a good reflection of our dark sides...
Take me as the example. I always think I'm not an ambitious person. However, once the "situation" started favouring me, I began expecting to achieve further advancement to my "wealth". Then, I's getting more and more ambitious. Finally, I even didn't mind to pay any cost to reach my target(s)... My point is similar situation happen in the real life, esp. those who are sitting at the highest rank position, either in politics, business world or just an organization/group. Whether against their wills or not, it has already been a matter of life when they are in the position: power & wealth may even make an less ambitious person think of taking further steps and hungering for everything finally! In other words, once the baton is on their hands, can they evade from the temptation of power...?
Furthermore, once getting upper hand in the game, the dominant players, including me, started monopolizing eveything, putting weaker "rivals" under the line, ruining weakers' "wealth" and even trying to wipe them out by every possible way (of course, it's just a game: the players still need to follow the rules, but how about the real world?). What could the losing players only do was struggling for their "survival" (if they still had no intention to quit the game)... This, of course, is a brutal reflection of the real world. PERHAPS THIS IS THE REAL FEATURE OF CAPITALISM (THE PHILOSOPHY/VALUE WHICH IS WIDELY ACCEPTED IN THE CURRENT GLOBALIZED WORLD)...
