It is difficult to help such people

Just after the 311 earthquake, Japanese people queued at the bus stations in good order to wait for the bus to go back home. In disaster areas, people escaped calmly without showing the hysteric emotions. In most cities, people insisted to show that they were still living normally. The good order and calmness surprised everyone in the world and caught the attention of the mass media worldwide.

There are quite many people in my place have such opinions:
Japanese people’s obedience and uniqueness in behaviours are terrible. If war happens again, they would be willing to follow their leader’s instruction to kill the enemies in a harsh way, which is similar to what happened in the Second World War.
Japanese people are cold-blooded. They did not show fear even seeing their cities being destroyed.
Japanese peoples’ individual emotions are suppressed. They are forced to be calm. They are forced to be very polite and be very obedient to the social and group order.

So many “experts on Japanese” suddenly came out! They looked like that they understood Japanese people (the bad side) very well. However, those people who said these words never retrospect what the people in their own country do which are much more shameful, such as (even they are not escaping from disasters) pushing other people in a queue, messy and noisy in public places, buying salt in a crazy way to prevent the influence of radiation from Japan, ignoring government’s warning of travel because they believed that the government “must” arrange a flight for them in case of further danger, etc. When they saw the Japanese people keeping good order in waiting for the public transport and staying calm when facing the disaster, they never appreciate it but just saw the bad side, exaggerated the phenomenon and criticized in an extreme way.

Sorry for a dirty metaphor. It is just like that when a person is eating shit, he suddenly sees the people at the next table eating delicious food, such as fried chicken, red wine, beef, etc. He refuses to think about what kind of food a person should eat, but just criticizes, “Oh, it is terrible for him to eat these things. So unnatural. So artificial. So time-consuming to prepare.”
