EDGE OF HONG KONG
The City of Hong Kong is now a mass of intricately interlocking sub-systems, just barely on the EDGE with a metabolism of all sizes... poised on the EDGE of the delicate balance of stability and fluidity. Six Poineer Hong Kong artists have been selected to define the new EDGE of HONG KONG (Mr. Lui Chun Kwong for his paintings, Mr. Almond Chu for his photographs, Mr. Mok Yat San for his sculptures, Professor David Clarke for his photo-slide work, Mr. Woody Lee and Mr. Chow Chun Fai for their paintings.) Collectively they sketch out a faint blueprint of the frontier EDGE of the Hong Kong art scene in response to the complexity we now experience. The EDGE of HONG KONG rises from the dance of co-evolution. If each individual in the system were allowed a little more freedom to explore different possibilities, the EDGE would be the place where we may catch a glimpse of our creative future...
