The Dui Hua Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving human rights in China through advocacy work based on open-source research, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time Research Assistant to work in our Hong Kong office.

The Research Assistant will report to the Research Manager and take primary responsibility for the collection of published news and information related to Chinese human rights and the Chinese criminal justice system. S/he will also be responsible for archiving sources and the routine entry of information into foundation databases. Some research in local library collections will be required. In addition, the Research Assistant will be asked to conduct other program-related research projects and contribute periodically to the foundation's publications.

Candidates must be detail-oriented, have strong project management and presentation skills, and be able to work independently. In addition, candidates should be able to demonstrate all of the following qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to China

- Fluency or near-fluency in Chinese, including competence in Putonghua

- Experience using Chinese-language sources to conduct research

- Excellent writing skills in English Commitment to non-profit goals and social justice

- Hong Kong permanent residency or authorization to work ing HKSAR

Ideal candidates will possess at least one of the following qualifications:

- Familiarity with Chinese-language Internet resources

- Awareness of contemporary Chinese politics and society

- Prior knowledge of Chinese law

- Experience with database development, programming
