Partnerships for Community Development (PCD)
is a HK-based NGO that works in community-based development in Mainland China to foster self-reliance, reduce inequality, and respect local cultures and the environment.
PCD is looking for two committed and innovative programme persons to join the team. They are required to identify, facilitate, assess, monitor and support development needs and programme initiatives according to PCD mission, approaches and strategies. Both are 2-year (renewable) contract positions.
Programme Officer-Urban Programme (PO-UP)
The PO-UP is responsible to develop and manage the Urban Programme in China which aims to promote reflection on culture, lifestyle and the relationship between urban and rural living. S/he will work with a wide range of NGOs and local groups to facilitate the development of learning platforms and practices of sustainable living and reconnection with nature. The PO-UP is based in Hong Kong, but will travel frequently to Beijing and within China for cross-regional collaboration.
Programme Manager-Guizhou (PM-GZ)
The PM-GZ is primarily responsible for developing, managing and coordinating PCD's Guizhou programme. S/he will also facilitate and support information flow within PCD and with other development organisations. The PM-GZ is preferred to be based in Guiyang to lead the project office and the project team there.
Requirements
For PO-UP: at least 2 years' experience in project cycle management of development programmes in areas such as rural development and development education in China.
For PM-GZ: at least 3 years' experience in project cycle management of development programmes for rural China, preferably with field-based project implementation and M&E experience. Commitment, skills and experience in participatory development, networking, strategic programme planning, facilitating workgroups, budgeting and financial management.
- Visionary, creative and abilities to work with a wide range of people;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
Willingness to travel extensively;
good spoken Chinese (Putonghua), fluency in spoken and written English.
