Joi Ito 於自己的 blog 中談及對反日示威的看法. 他提出了很有意思的問題和運動方向, 在這裡花點時間翻譯主要內容, 希望可以傳到國內的網絡中, 亦希望教師可以以此為教材.
我是一同很同情中國立場的日本人, 但我卻很難理解整個事情的脈絡, 以及在這次運動中, 日本究竟可以做點什麼來改變現況呢? 尤其是當部份中國人做出如此充滿仇恨和極端的行為時, 使對話變得困難, 甚至使人害怕對話. 同時, 中國的極端行為亦使日本的民族主義者更激烈, 使較溫和的聲音難以冒起. 我相信仇恨不能幫助溝通.
其中一個最大的問題是大部份日本人不明白問題出來那裡, 大部份日本人並不是軍方的支持者. 當我面對日本的軍方, 絕不會產生醜陋的民主主義思想, 我會記起1932年5月15日, 我們的國家總理 Inukai 被軍方暗殺, 使日本的政黨政治終結, 直到二次大戰完結後才恢復. 我會記起日本軍方控制政府, 把日本帶進最黑暗的歷史. 我會想到小孩子被當作人肉炸彈送往戰場, 我會想起Yasukuni神舍亡魂寄回家裡的信, 是那些被嚇壞的小孩訴說他們對戰爭恐懼的信. 大部份日本人不相信軍方, 大部份日本人認為在30年的軍政府是政變帶來的非法政權, 很多日本人認為日本人也是軍方種種行為的受害者.
所以我也認為日本教科書的確過於低調地處理日本軍方於中國的種種暴行, 亦同意日本教科書是一個要面對和處理的問題. 我認為日本人真的不理解中國和南韓人所受到傷害的程度, 而這種教育是必需的. 其實日本教科書不單止在這些方面進行刪改, 目前日本教科書是沒有"革命"或"內戰"等字眼, 所以教科書以"明治維新"和"美國獨立戰鬥"來描述革命, 而美國內戰則以"南北戰爭"來代替等. 這些行為就像把圓周率簡化為3. 日本教育部需要全面地檢討教科書的內容, 也許它們應採用wikipedia的做法.
我不是意圖把中國示威所提出的問題變得瑣碎, 但若他們真的希望日本改變, 也許他們應該嘗試與像我這樣的日本盟友對話, 而不是強迫他們的敵人投降. 來自雙方的專家和積極份子的連結, 以更好的策略處理問題會更有效.

Ah Oi, thanks for your efforts, BUT...
... I have to remind you that In-media is one of the websites blocked by Chinese government, which means:
in China, people can't access to In-Media website, and to read the articles here.
I have stated that, just I suppose no one noticed because everybody else was concentrating on the resignation of Tung Chee Hwa then......

they can, by proxy
in china, people have many ways to get around with the internet monitoring system. like using proxy. and sometimes, they can paste and stick the article to their own discussion boards. no need to visit inmedia. i heard from some china bloggers that they do visit us from time to time.
and if there are internet secret polices here, it would be good for them to read this as well. am quite optimistic :)

That's true
I myself have also told my friends about the softwares Wang Dan mentioned to overcome this obsticle as well. Still, the website is not accessible, officially.
The problem is then, the ones who are not so desperate to reach the sources, to read such articles would not care enough to do so many things to read what everybody should read.

you can send to them by e-mail
just make sure that the text does not contain very senstive words such as 64 then it would be fine.

一個民族不會只是得一張臉
就如前陣子南方朔寫的，與「一群關心史實的市民」在「篡改六四侵華異曲同工 尊重面對歷史垂範後代」寫的一樣，我們不是要反日而是要反邪惡，而要責駡的，也不是過化簡化的「敵人」，更不應雙全標準。
藹雲來郵告知ito君把我的圖文城市招稿呼籲貼翻譯並貼到他的網站上去。我開始想，我們也可以倒過頭來呼籲日本的朋友也把家裡的中國貨拿出來，一起看看全球資本主資的利害。

Ah Oi, they can't open the e-mailed links ga, either!
Anyway, none of them could open any page from this website in mainland. I am not sure about the details of the 'block', but asked my friends to download the softwares Wang Dan suggested in one article (found from In-media also).
