Dear President Trump,
I am writing to seek your help to save Nobel Prize Laureate Liu Xiaobo from further inhumane treatments by the Communist Chinese government. I heard that you are going to speak to President Xi on the phone tomorrow and since I believe you are the only person strong enough to influence Xi on this matter, I have to try and plead with you to bring Liu and his wife, Liu Xia, out of the abyss of pain and despair.
Time is running out for Liu in his final stage of liver cancer. If you do not speak in time, we will never be able to free Liu and his wife from their sufferings . As a husband and a father, I am totally heartbroken for the Liu's and I am sure you feel the same way when we see our most beloved ones suffer such immense pain.
The best arrangements would be to get Liu and his wife out of China so that Liu can get the safest and best medical treatments. Liu, in fact, has agreed with his wife that they wish to get out of China. They have written to the Chinese authorities about their wish, but have not been granted permission to leave China.
Dear President Trump, I know you are a busy man and it almost sounds sinful to bother you with such a plea. But I have no other person to turn to now. Please talk to President Xi and save Liu Xiaobo and Liu Xia.
