一如早期殖民地的警署，位於南丫島、建於1966年的舊南丫島警崗，亦是建於近洪聖爺灣的小山丘上。自南丫新警崗啟用後，舊均一直廢棄至今。
The old Lamma Police Post was built in 1966. Like many colonial period police stations, it is built on a small hill next to Hung Shing Ye bay. The Post was abandoned several years ago when a new Police Station opened in Yung Shue Wan.
本年度政府向立法會申請的基本工程儲備基金項目PF-E86中，包括「清拆洪聖爺灣南丫島警崗舊址」，費用預算為436.5萬。
The governments capital works reserve budget item PF-E86 submitted to the Legislative Council this year includes at HK$4.635 million project to demolish the former Police Post at Hung Shing Ye.
早前我們與離島區議員梁國豪、前立法會議員朱凱廸、Matthew Chapple（南丫華哥）及崔靖青（人人南丫），一同去信發展局及文物保育專員，要求實地視察，以及商議能否保留舊址。
We have written to the Development Bureau and the Commissioner for Heritage's Office together with the Islands District Councillor, 梁國豪 Leung Kwok Ho Super, former Legislative Council Members 八鄉朱凱廸 Chu Hoi Dick, Matthew Chapple 南丫居民關注組 Lamma Residents Concern Group) and Caan CHUI (We Lamma) requesting an on-site inspections and to discuss whether or not the building should be preserved.

南丫島警崗見證了港英政府、特區政府及香港警務處與南丫島的歷史，亦有團體欲申請舊址作社區用途，給予南丫島警崗舊址第二生命。目前南丫島北部近洪聖爺灣一帶，亦欠缺社區設施，相信此計劃能禆益居民，亦能增添南丫島旅遊特色。
The old Lamma Police Post has been witness to the history of the British Colonial Government, the Hong Kong SAR Government, Hong Kong Police Force and Lamma Island. There are also groups that wish to apply to use the old site for community use, giving the former Police Post a second life. At present, there is a lack of community facilities in the northern part of Lamma Island I believe this project can potentially benefit both residents and add to the tourist character of Lamma Island.
我們早前獲發展局回覆，指舊南丫島警崗雖非已評級的歷史建築，但古蹟辦正進入深入研究，評估其文物價值及作評級。古蹟辦已要求相關部門（政府產業署）考慮暫緩拆卸工程。發展局會根據評級，再考慮是否把舊南丫島警崗納入「活化歷史建築伙伴計劃。」
We have already received a reply from the Development Bureau stating that although the old Lamma Island Police Post is not graded as an historical building and that the Antiquities Office will conduct in-depth research to assess its cultural value and apply a rating.The Antiquities Office has asked the relevant department (the Government Property Agency) to consider suspending demolition work. Based on the rating, the Development Bureau will then consider whether to include the Police Post in the "Revitalizing Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme."

換言之，目前最重要的工作，是一同尋找舊南丫島警崗的歷史文獻，不論是資料或圖片，以爭取古諮會給予更高的評級，從而保留舊警崗作社區用途。
The most important task at present is to search for historical documents related to the old Lamma Police Post, including information and pictures, in order to obtain a high rating from the Antiquities Advisory Board so as to preserve it for community use.
